Our seminar week in Serifos: The learning arc

Our "Amplify Women's Voices" training week in Serifos was an immersive experience designed to take our participants on a comprehensive podcasting journey. From arrival to departure, each day was thoughtfully structured to build skills, foster creativity, and cultivate a strong sense of community.

A Glimpse into Our Daily Rhythm:

Our days typically began with invigorating voice warm-ups led by Nina Kaloutsa, setting a positive and expressive tone. After breakfast, we'd gather for a morning sharing circle and from there, dive into focused morning sessions. Lunch provided a welcome break for connection and refueling, followed by intensive afternoon workshops. Evenings were a blend of continued learning, shared dinners, and community-building activities.

The Week's Learning Arc:

• Day 1 (7th Oct): Journey & Welcome
  After the journey to Serifos and settling in, our first evening was dedicated to a Welcome Circle & Connecting, creating an open and supportive atmosphere from the outset.

• Day 2 (8th Oct): Foundations & Introductions
  Ioanna led us through "The why and how," setting the frame and allowing everyone to get to know each other and their projects. In the afternoon, Darya Kamkalova introduced "PODCAST I (non-technical stuff)," covering everything needed before starting a podcast.

• Day 3 (9th Oct): Voice & Technical Skills
  Nina Kaloutsa empowered us with "Amplify Women's Voices: Speak and Thrive." Darya then delved into "PODCASTING II (technical stuff)," followed by group work.

• Day 4 (10th Oct): Storytelling & Integration
  Lida Tsene guided us through "Digital Storytelling." The afternoon was a crucial INTEGRATION session, covering concept, story, tech setup, trial recording, and processing. We ended the day with a voice training together with Nina.

• Day 5 (11th Oct): Feedback & Promotion
  The morning was dedicated to 1-1 voice feedbacks on first recordings with Nina, Lida, and Darya. Lida and Darya then co-led a session on Marketing & Promotion & Publishing.

• Day 6 (12th Oct): Practice & Celebration
  Participants engaged in peer feedback on prototypes. Melinda then led an OPEN SPACE session focused on recordings and learning from each other. The evening was a time for CELEBRATION!

• Day 7 (13th Oct): Reflection & Next Steps
  Clôd led the final morning with an Integration & Closing: World Cafe Retrospective and outlined the Next steps in the learning journey, before lunch, clean-up, and departure.

  
  

Our agenda was designed to be a holistic experience, blending expert-led training in voice, storytelling, technical production, and promotion with practical application, peer learning, and joyful connection. It was an incredible week of growth and empowerment!
