Measurable Impact: Evaluating the Success of the "Amplify Women's Voices" Erasmus+ Project

What Participants Said When Applying (Baseline & Expectations):

  1. Main Motivation: Learning Podcasting: Many applied specifically to learn the technical and strategic skills of podcasting – from recording and editing to storytelling and structuring. Some had prior experience (e.g., as podcast guests, radio hosts, video producers), but many were beginners ("eager to learn beginner," "not really," "no") with varying levels of digital skills (mostly "Beginner" to "Intermediate").

  2. Amplifying Voice/Message: A central concern was to amplify their own voices and those of their projects/communities (in areas like DEI, regenerative projects, inclusion, design, bioeconomy, women's rights, migration, etc.) and increase their visibility. They hoped the program would provide tools and confidence to communicate their topics more effectively.

  3. Community & Network: The desire to connect with like-minded, engaged women, learn from each other, provide mutual support, and be part of an inspiring community was a strong motivation.

  4. Personal & Professional Growth: Many saw the program as an opportunity for personal development, building self-confidence (especially in public speaking or handling technology), and developing skills relevant to their professional activities.

  5. Support & Structure: Some explicitly mentioned needing the framework, support, and deadlines provided by the program to actually implement their podcasting plans ("push me to get started").

What Improved & What Results Were Achieved (According to Feedback):

  1. Significant Skill Development: Participants rated the program's contribution to understanding podcasting very highly (average 8.75/10). The development of essential personal and professional skills was rated even higher (average 8.83/10). Specific skills mentioned include:

    • Podcasting Skills: Technology, methodology, storytelling, structuring, editing basics.

    • Voice Training & Communication: Breathing techniques, voice control, conscious use of voice (sessions with Nina Kaloutsa were often highlighted as particularly valuable).

    • Confidence & Presence: Courage, self-assurance, overcoming fear of public speaking or technology.

  2. Empowerment & Voice Amplification: Feedback clearly shows that participants felt strengthened ("empowered and supported," "courage," "brave"). They learned to use their voice as a tool for their causes and for change ("vehicle for gender equity") and to overcome self-doubt.

  3. Strong Community: Building a supportive community ("sisterhood," "meaningful community," "camaraderie") was an outstanding success of the program and consistently mentioned as one of the best aspects.

  4. Tangible Results: The program led to the actual production and publication of 43 podcast episodes on a joint channel. The "push" and structure were perceived as helpful in achieving this goal.

  5. Expectations Exceeded: For the majority of participants, the program met or even exceeded their expectations ("Surpassed my expectations," "Yes&beyond," "definitely exceeded"). It was described as a "lab for growth."

  6. Constructive Feedback: Although skill development was rated highly, some participants wished for even more hands-on practice time during the seminar week and, in some cases, a deeper dive into specific topics (e.g., monetization, advanced editing).

In summary, the participants' original goals and expectations – particularly learning podcasting, strengthening their voices, and building a community – were largely met or exceeded according to their own feedback. This is reflected in the high average ratings for skill development.
